The Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles will meet in Week 4 for their first game against each other in three years.

Since the Green Bay Packers‘ comfortable win against the Philadelphia Eagles as part of the “run the table” finish in 2016, the two teams have gone in different directions.

The Eagles went on to win the Super Bowl the following year and made it to the divisional round of the playoffs in 2018. The Packers haven’t been back to the postseason since making the NFC Championship Game in 2016.

What can we expect from the Eagles when they visit Lambeau Field this season?

Last season

Despite making a 4-6 start to the 2018 season, the Eagles won five of their final six games to finish 9-7, good for second place in the NFC East and a wild-card berth. Philadelphia then shocked Chicago at Soldier Field with a 16-15 victory, before losing to New Orleans in the divisional round a week later.

When is the game?

This will be the Packers’ third straight home game, taking place in Week 4 of the regular season on Thursday Night Football. The game will be played on Thursday, Sept. 26.

Offseason additions

The Eagles added talent on offense this offseason, bringing back wide receiver DeSean Jackson, and trading for former Bears running back Jordan Howard, and they only had to give away a late-round draft pick to get him. Jackson and Howard are two great additions to the Eagles offense.

Philadelphia also strengthened the offensive line by selecting tackle Andre Dillard in the first round of the draft, as well as running back Miles Sanders and wide receiver JJ Arcega-Whiteside in the second round.

With a healthy Carson Wentz, the Eagles offense has a ton of potential.

Last meeting with Packers

Player to watch

Carson Wentz: Staying healthy is key for Wentz, but it’s important not to forget he was one of the contenders for the league-MVP award two years ago before getting injured.

The last time the Packers played against Wentz was in his rookie season — Wentz threw for 254 yards, no touchdowns and an interception. He also rushed for 33 yards and the Eagles’ only touchdown in the game. That game was a long time ago, but the Packers will hope for a similar defensive performance.

If Wentz is at his best, this will be a difficult game for Mike Pettine’s defense.
