The Green Bay Packers will play the Oakland Raiders at Lambeau Field for the first time since 2011.

The Green Bay Packers have won seven straight in the regular season against the Oakland Raiders. Their last defeat was to the LA Raiders back in 1987.

Jon Gruden’s team have had an interesting offseason. With cap room to spend and three first-round picks, they’ve made a number of moves to upgrade their roster.

Will the Raiders compete for the playoffs in 2019, or will it be another disappointing year for the Packers’ opponents in Week 7?

Last season

Only one team in the NFL, the Arizona Cardinals, had a worse record than the Raiders in 2018, who finished with a disappointing 4-12 record.

When is the game?

The Packers will play their fifth home game of the season against the Raiders in Week 7. The game will be played on Sunday, Oct. 20. The Packers will be playing on a short week after hosting the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football.

Offseason additions

The Raiders have had a busy offseason. They traded for wide receiver Antonio Brown, and signed wide receiver Tyrell Williams and tackle Trent Brown. That’s three great additions on offense. Oakland also signed safety Lamarcus Joyner and linebacker Brandon Marshall.

With three first-round picks following the Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper trades, the Raiders selected edge rusher Clelin Ferrell, running back Josh Jacobs and safety Johnathan Abram.

Player to watch

Antonio Brown: Oakland traded for Antonio Brown in the offseason, and he’ll be a huge part of their offense. One of the best receivers in football, the Packers will need to have a good gameplan defensively.

The last time Brown played the Packers was in 2017 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In that game, he had 10 receptions for 169 yards and two touchdowns in a Steelers victory.

Green Bay has improved its secondary in the two offseasons since, and that will be key against Brown.
