In Week 10, the Carolina Panthers visit Lambeau Field in the Green Bay Packers’ last game ahead of their bye.

Games featuring two elite quarterbacks are always fun, and that’ll be the case in Week 10 when Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers host Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers.

Here’s a closer look at the Panthers’ offseason.

Last season

The Panthers made a fast start to the 2018 season with a 6-2 record, and they looked set to challenge the New Orleans Saints for the NFC South title. This made it all the more surprising that they went 1-7 the rest of the way to finish 7-9 and outside of the playoff race.

When is the game?

This is the Packers’ final game before their bye week. After playing back-to-back road games against the NFC West, Green Bay returns to Lambeau Field to host Carolina in Week 10, an early afternoon game on Sunday, Nov. 10.

Offseason additions

The Panthers made two key free-agency signings, bringing in center Matt Paradis and edge rusher Bruce Irvin. They then strengthened the pass rush and offensive line again with their first two draft picks, selecting edge rusher Brian Burns with the 16th-overall pick and tackle Greg Little with the 37th selection.

Player to watch

Christian McCaffreyChristian McCaffrey is coming off an excellent second season with the Panthers. He rushed for 1,098 yards and seven touchdowns, and he also had 867 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns. McCaffrey finished first on the team in both rushing and receiving, and he would’ve finished second in receiving for the Packers last year behind only Davante Adams.

McCaffrey also threw his first NFL pass — a 50-yard touchdown.

After such an incredible season, defenses are going to need to find a way to stop him. And considering the Packers’ struggles over the years defending running backs who can catch passes out of the backfield, this will be a tough matchup.
