With the 2019 NFL season right around the corner, here is the ranking of the league’s top quarterbacks.

The depth of the NFL’s quarterback position appeared to be in dire straits just a few seasons ago. Peyton Manning was on his way out, there were uncertainties about the remaining playing duration of the likes of Tom Brady and Drew Brees (before they defied time), and most importantly there was an evident vacuum of quarterbacks who could replace these legends of the game.

Then the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Deshaun Watson, Jared Goff, and numerous others with the potential to be top-echelon quarterbacks for years to come came along.

It is quite possible that the NFL has never been stronger at the quarterback position headed into a season then it is right now.

There is a quarterback in the league today that is widely considered (and rightfully so) to be the greatest of all time (Tom Brady) with little sign of slowing down, quarterbacks that warrant discussion for or have already cemented top-10 all-time status (Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees), other former MVPs (Patrick Mahomes, Matt Ryan, and Cam Newton), and numerous other stars who may not be far off from similar accolades (Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson are the first that come to mind).

It is fair to say that the NFL is at its brightest when the quarterback position is at its brightest, and if all things remain the same, that light could be blinding for years to come.
