Packers: Ranking the top five offseason moves in 2019
Ranking the Green Bay Packers’ top five offseason moves.
One way or another, this is going to be an offseason to remember for the Green Bay Packers. Two disappointing seasons led to big changes across the board, starting with the decision to replace longtime head coach Mike McCarthy with Matt LaFleur. The Packers then continued to make tough decisions by moving on from players who have been key to the team’s success in recent years such as Randall Cobb and Clay Matthews.
If all goes to plan, this will be looked back on as the turning point that helped a team that was underachieving get back on track, resulting in another championship in the Aaron Rodgers era. If not, this could prove to be a costly offseason that results in another coaching change down the line, while also trying to get by with some big cap hits in the coming years.
It’s impossible to know just yet, but Packers fans should be excited about the moves this team has made in the past few months. Once again, this team has the potential to make a serious Super Bowl challenge, and that simply hasn’t been the case the past few years.
But what have been the top five offseason moves by the Packers this spring?
