When the Green Bay Packers selected three running backs in the 2017 NFL Draft, they hoped one would go on to become a star. That player could be Aaron Jones, who has made a great start to his career with an impressive 5.5 yards-per-carry career average, which is the same number he finished on in 2018, leading the league.
But like many other starters on offense, this is going to be an interesting summer. The change at head coach brings a lot of uncertainty. How will the new offense look under head coach Matt LaFleur, and what are his plans for the run game, and specifically Jones’ role?
Fans were understandably frustrated last season when Jones would break out a big run only to be replaced by Jamaal Williams on the next series. Will that change with LaFleur calling plays? We’ll soon begin to find out the answers to many of the questions about the 2019 Green Bay Packers.
