Will Green Bay Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari earn a fourth straight All-Pro selection in 2019?

David Bakhtiari is not only an All-Pro at chugging beer, but he’s also a pretty good left tackle for the Green Bay Packers. And in a brand new offense led by Matt LaFleur, he’s one of the most important players on the entire roster.

Once again in 2019, Bakhtiari will be key to the team’s success on offense.

2018 review

It was yet another incredible season for Bakhtiari. For the third consecutive year, Bakhtiari was an All-Pro, but this was his first time named as a first-team All-Pro. He was also named Pro Football Focus’ 2018 Pass Blocker of the Year.

Is there any doubt at this point that Bakhtiari is the best tackle in football?

Odds of making roster: 100 percent

If the Packers had to start over but could keep only three players currently on the roster, Bakhtiari would easily be one of them. That’s how important he is to this team.

What to expect in 2019?

After consistently proving why he’s an elite pass protector, only an injury can stop Bakhtiari from putting together another dominant season in Green Bay. And considering the number of talented pass rushers who play in the NFC North, that’s good news for the Packers.

Oddly enough, despite Bakhtiari’s performances on the field and three straight All-Pro selections, his only Pro Bowl selection came back in 2016. But if he continues to play at an elite level, that surely has to change. Bakhtiari is entering the prime of his career and will turn 28 in September.

The Packers have made some big changes to the offensive line this offseason, mostly at the two guard spots, signing Billy Turner and drafting Elgton Jenkins. But right tackle Bryan Bulaga‘s future is uncertain beyond the 2019 season, so predicting the 2020 starters at each position isn’t easy.

Except for left tackle, that is. With so much change along the line, the Packers are lucky to have an All-Pro talent at left tackle.
