With the end of OTAs and mandatory minicamps, we now enter the “dead” period of the offseason. But fret not, for there are things to get excited about the Green Bay Packers for the 2019 season.

Free agency, the draft and offseason training are now over, and the official start to the 2019 season is on the horizon. There’s six weeks before the start of training camp and a little over 11 weeks before the Green Bay Packers kick off the season against the Chicago Bears.

This “dead” zone can be agonizing for football fans as news and football related activities are pretty much nil till training camps start up at the end of July. There’ll be a few draft pick signings and small free agent moves, but any major transactions will be almost non-existent till then.

But, in the midst of this down time there are some things to look forward to. The Packers have had as busy of an offseason as they’ve had in recent memory. A new coaching staff, a flurry of free agent moves and a little bit controversy gave the normally quiet Packers the most noise they’ve had since the summer of 2008 and the Brett Favre drama.

In that noise, out came a few reasons to be optimistic heading into the 2019 season. Aaron Rodgers is healthy, and the fact second-year GM Brian Gutekunst isn’t sitting on his hands when it comes to improving the team with outside talent are two reasons to get excited about.

But here’s three more things to look forward to in 2019.
