Ahead of training camp, here’s a closer look at each position group on the Green Bay Packers’ roster.

Under five weeks away from the start of training camp, let’s take a look at the Green Bay Packers‘ roster position by position.

Which position groups are the strongest entering the new season?

With so many new players, especially at positions of need at the start of the offseason, here’s a look at where the Packers have good depth, and where some questions still remain.

11. Special teams

Green Bay’s special teams was a mess throughout the 2018 season. From uncharacteristic field goal misses by Mason Crosby to inconsistent punting and coverage, this is an area the Packers need to improve this season. The Packers finished at No. 28 in Football Outsiders’ special teams ratings for the 2018 season.

Shawn Mennenga replaces Ron Zook as the special teams coordinator this year, and it’s his job to help the Packers’ special teams play at a much higher level this season.

Some big questions still remain ahead of training camp. Who will return kickoffs and punts? Will Mason Crosby win the competition at kicker with the Packers signing Sam Ficken this offseason?

We’ll learn a lot more about the Packers’ special teams once training camp begins next month, but for now, this is an area of concern for this team.
