Predicting Jamaal Williams’ rushing and receiving statistics in 2019.

With many analysts predicting a breakout season for Aaron Jones, where does that leave Jamaal Williams? The answer is that Williams is going to play an important role in the Green Bay Packers offense, no matter how many carries Jones has.

With Williams’ versatility, the Packers will use him to run the football, catch passes and also block. He’s been a reliable running back in his first two seasons and should get plenty of opportunities this year.

But how many rushing yards, receiving yards and touchdowns will Williams have in 2019?

Rushing

The featured role in the backfield should go to Jones, but Williams will still finish with good numbers and close to a career-best for rushing yards. As the number two back, Williams will finish with 550 rushing yards and a career-best six touchdowns. That would also lead the team in rushing touchdowns.

Williams is excellent in short-yardage situations, which should give him plenty of opportunities on the goal line to score.

Even if Williams doesn’t have the most carries of the Packers’ running backs this season, he can still make a significant impact in Matt LaFleur’s offense.

Receiving

One area LaFleur could look to get Williams the ball often is as a receiver. We’ve seen already in his first two seasons with the Packers that Williams is more than capable of making big plays as a pass catcher.

That should continue with LaFleur aiming to use his running backs in the passing game. Williams can block when he’s not getting the football, and he’s also the team’s best receiver at the running back position.

Williams will get plenty of opportunities in the passing game and will finish with career-best numbers with 300 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
