8. Aaron Rodgers, Quarterback

For the first time since the Packers drafted him in 2005, Aaron Rodgers has to learn a completely new offense. It’s at training camp where we’ll get an early look at how Rodgers is adjusting to Matt LaFleur’s system and how things differ from Mike McCarthy’s offense.

There’s been a lot of talk about how much freedom Rodgers will have at the line of scrimmage. Able to change plays in McCarthy’s system for many years, will he have the same options in LaFleur’s offense?

The answer appears to be a “double call”, as Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported. As Breer noted, LaFleur would give Rodgers two calls, which would add some flexibility based on how the defense is lined up. But will Rodgers have more flexibility to change plays and protections as he sees fit? As LaFleur continues to implement his system this summer, this will be an area to watch.

How will the Packers balance the need to play faster and get the right calls in, while also allowing Rodgers to bring his experience and ability to read and react to defenses?

It’s going to be a different training camp than usual for No. 12. How quickly will Rodgers adjust to the new offense?
