Power ranking the top five running backs in the NFC North.

The NFC North has been home to many of the league’s great running backs in recent years. Adrian Peterson was dominant in the Minnesota Vikings offense for many years, while Matt Forte‘s receiving ability made him tough for any defense to stop. For a couple of seasons when Eddie Lacy was at the top of his game, he was one of the league’s best at the position.

But the NFC North is now loaded with young talent at the running back position. The likely starters for each team in 2019 are all 24 years old or younger.

The Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, and Vikings will all be hoping for better seasons on the ground in 2019. Green Bay finished 22nd in rushing offense last season, Detroit just behind at 23rd, while Minnesota ranked 30th. Chicago was much better at 11th in the NFL, however they’ve since traded away their leading rusher Jordan Howard.

Training camp is just weeks away, and there are just two months to go until the NFL’s regular season opener between the Packers and Bears. With that in mind, let’s take a look at each backfield in the division.
