4. David Montgomery, Chicago Bears

David Montgomery is yet to play a game in the NFL, but he’s going to be an important part of the Chicago Bears offense right away. After trading away Jordan Howard earlier in the offseason, there was a good chance the Bears would turn to the draft to find a replacement, which they did by selecting Montgomery in the third round in April.

And Montgomery, who had 2,925 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns, including back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, at Iowa State, could be an ideal fit in Matt Nagy’s offense. NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein believed Montgomery would be a Day 2 pick ahead of the draft. Zierlein wrote:

"“One of the safest runners in this draft with a desirable combination of size, vision, toughness and creativity. He runs with impressive calm and instincts in the midst of interior mayhem, weaving and battering his way through traffic.”"

Chicago could have the division’s number one running back duo, and possibly one of the best in the league. It’s hard to put Montgomery any higher on this list until we see him in action, but Bears fans should be excited about their ground game in 2019. Between Montgomery and Cohen, Chicago has two very talented running backs.
