2. Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers

Another player who could have a breakout season in 2019 is Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones, who should finally be given a featured role this year. Jones continues to impress every time he gets an opportunity, and in 2018 he matched his yards-per-carry average from his rookie season, which also led the NFL.

Jones has the ability to pick up three or four yards even when there isn’t much running room. And when a running lane is opened, he uses his acceleration to take advantage and break out a big run. When Jones has the ball in the open field, he’s tough to tackle.

Jones also continues to make big plays for the Packers. Of his 13 career rushing touchdowns, five were of distances of 20 yards or more.

After making his first touchdown reception last season, Jones could have an increased role as a receiver, with new head coach Matt LaFleur expected to involve the running backs more in the passing game.

Like Kerryon Johnson for the Detroit Lions, Jones needs to stay healthy. He’s missed games due to injury the past two seasons, and that’s all that can prevent him from having a huge season for the Green Bay Packers.
