Packers 2019 fantasy football profile: Marquez Valdes-Scantling

We’ll get into Valdes-Scantling’s ADP and where to draft him in a moment, but I’m excited about his potential in Green Bay’s offense, and also as one of the top sleepers at wide receiver for fantasy football.

It will be important to follow along with reports from the Packers’ training camp this summer, but it’s certainly possible MVS will be a starter, and that will lead to an increase in targets and therefore fantasy points.

Valdes-Scantling can also be a game-winner in fantasy due to his ability to make big plays deep downfield. According to Pro Football Focus, MVS finished second on the team for receptions 20 or more yards down the field in 2018. It won’t be a surprise if that number increases for MVS this year. Valdes-Scantling expects to have success in this area:

“I’m a vertical guy and I can stretch the field in numerous ways. I think this offense is predicated for guys like me, and I think that’s going to be good for me,” Valdes-Scantling said in June, according to Mike Spofford of Packers.com.

Valdes-Scantling could be the Packers’ breakout star on offense. I’m predicting a big second season for MVS, making him an excellent late-round pick in fantasy football.
