The Green Bay Packers have received one of the highest ratings in the league in the “Madden NFL 20” video game.

After a much-needed busy offseason, the Green Bay Packers could be about to bounce back and reestablish themselves as playoff contenders in 2019.

And it looks like the “Madden NFL 20” video game agrees. EA Sports released the ratings for all 32 NFL teams for this year’s game, and the Packers are the fifth-highest rated team, ahead of the Los Angeles Rams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Chicago Bears.

In some ways it’s surprising as they are three of the top teams in the league. On the other hand, it’s not. The Packers have spent big in free agency, drafted well and look to have built a strong defense, which is why they were given an 84 rating for their defense.

And we all know the potential of the offense. Aaron Rodgers, David Bakhtiari and Davante Adams are among the highest-rated players at their positions, with the Packers receiving a rating of 89 for their offense.

What’s most surprising is Aaron Rodgers’ drop from last year’s rating. He was given a perfect 99 rating a year ago for “Madden NFL 19”, but begins this season with a 90 rating, good for only seventh among quarterbacks in the game.

Seventh? I’m not so sure there are six quarterbacks better than Rodgers in the NFL.

But overall, the Packers have been given a great rating, which should make them a fun team to choose.

And hopefully it’s a sign of how good this roster is. Just by looking at the talent on the roster, it’s clear this team has the potential to be among the top five in the NFL, and the “Madden” ratings back that up. But it’s now over to the team, with a new coaching staff, to turn potential into success on the field.

Do you agree with the “Madden NFL 20” ratings for the Green Bay Packers?
