Three laughable Packers player ratings in ‘Madden NFL 20’
2. Geronimo Allison, WR – 74 overall
Potentially a starter in the Green Bay Packers offense this season, Geronimo Allison hasn’t been given much love in “Madden NFL 20” with an overall rating of 74. A year ago, I’d understand this rating. And it’s also fair that due to Allison’s season-ending injury in 2018, we didn’t get a full season to see what he could do with an increased role.
That said, Allison played at such a high level last year that it should be enough to earn a higher rating for 2019.
It feels that Allison’s rating is based on the total receiving yards he finished on last season, not taking into account the fact he only played in five games.
For example, Allison’s 74 overall rating compares to Titans wide receiver Tajae Sharpe (75 overall), who had 26 receptions for 316 yards and two touchdowns, compared to 303 yards and two touchdowns for Allison. The big difference is that Allison played in five games with four starts, compared to 16 games with 13 starts for Sharpe.
Similarly, Raiders receiver Ryan Grant had 334 yards and a touchdown for the Colts last season, but played in nine more games than Allison.
But looking beyond the numbers, Allison made key play after key play for the Packers in 2018, showing why he’s talented enough to be a starter moving forward.
