Wild-card round

AFC: Colts (3) def. Browns (6)

AFC: Chargers (5) def. Ravens (4)

NFC: Packers (3) def. Falcons (6)

NFC: Cowboys (4) def. Bears (5)

Not only do the Packers make it back to the postseason, but they also get a home victory over the Falcons. Interestingly, Green Bay’s last playoff game was a loss to Atlanta in the NFC Championship Game three years ago. So it’s fitting to get the win over the Falcons in the wild-card round.

Lambeau Field is a tough venue for any team to visit in the frozen January conditions. That’s especially true for a dome team like the Falcons.

The Packers advance to the divisional round.

Elsewhere in the wild-card round, the Colts win at home, the Chargers win on the road, and the Cowboys end the Bears’ season.

Divisional round

AFC: Colts (3) def. Chiefs (2)

AFC: Chargers (5) def. Patriots (1)

NFC: Rams (2) def. Packers (3)

NFC: Saints (1) def. Cowboys (4)

But, unfortunately, this is where the Packers’ season comes to an end. While I’d love to believe Matt LaFleur will guide this team to the Super Bowl this year — and he could — I think they’ll fall just short. The Rams are strong at home (7-1 record in 2018), and will be fresh after a bye in the first round.

In a close game, just like the meeting between these two teams last year, it could come down to one key play.

The Rams and Saints advance to set up a rematch of last season’s NFC Championship Game. Over in the AFC, the Colts upset the Chiefs and the Chargers surprise everyone with a road victory over the defending champions.
