AFC South

1. Colts (11-5)

2. Texans (9-7)

3. Jaguars (8-8)

4. Titans (5-11)

Last year, the Indianapolis Colts rebounded from a 1-5 start, winning nine of their final 10 regular season games. It was good only for a wild-card berth. They’ll go one better this time around, winning 11 games to take the AFC South title for the first time since 2014.

The Houston Texans have made the playoffs five times in the past eight seasons, but they’ll just miss out after winning two fewer games than in 2018. The Texans are a talented team, but playing in a competitive division will make it difficult to hit double-digit victories.

One reason why will be the play of the Jacksonville Jaguars, a team that fell well short of expectations in 2018, but could get back on track this season. Two years after reaching the AFC Championship Game, I’m expecting a return to form for the Jaguars, although it won’t quite be enough to make the playoffs.

Despite all of the team’s struggles in 2018, Jacksonville’s defense still played at a high level, finishing fifth in the NFL. The offense let them down (27th in the NFL), but Nick Foles gives them a significant upgrade at the quarterback position.

For the Tennessee Titans, it’ll be a frustrating season after just missing out on the playoffs in 2018.
