NFC South

1. Saints (12-4)

2. Falcons (10-6)

3. Panthers (8-8)

4. Buccaneers (4-12)

And on the note of teams that could bounce back in 2019, keep an eye on the Atlanta Falcons. Following two consecutive playoff appearances and reaching the Super Bowl in 2017, the Falcons fell to 7-9 last season. They were unlucky with injuries, particularly on defense, losing Deion Jones and Keanu Neal early in the season.

But with a fully healthy defense, the Falcons should be much more competitive in 2019. They added talent in the offseason, strengthening the offensive line with their top two draft picks. But the key was re-signing defensive tackle Grady Jarrett.

However, the division title will once again belong to the New Orleans Saints, who enter 2019 with arguably the most balanced roster in football. Their defense will look to build on last season’s performance, which fell slightly below expectations but was still good for 14th overall.

Jared Cook can make a big impact in an already-dominant offense featuring future Hall-of-Famer Drew Brees, and young stars Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas, who recently signed a new contract.

The Saints are the team to beat. Not just in the NFC South, but in the entire conference.

With New Orleans and Atlanta winning 10-plus games, the Carolina Panthers fall just short of the playoffs at 8-8, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers win only four times.
