Packers roundup: Jason Spriggs waived, previewing preseason opener
A roundup of the latest Green Bay Packers articles for Wednesday, August 7.
Welcome to the Packers News Report.
The Green Bay Packers have waived former second-round pick Jason Spriggs, and have claimed running back Keith Ford to take the roster spot, according to the team’s official website. Green Bay traded up for Spriggs in 2015, with many expecting he could eventually replace Bryan Bulaga at right tackle.
Well, that never happened. And Green Bay must be confident with its depth at tackle should either Bulaga or David Bakhtiari suffer an injury. It was also important to bring in another running back considering the number of injuries the team currently has at the position.
The countdown until the return of Packers football is down to just one day, with their first game of the regular season only 29 more days away.
In the Packers News Report today: what to watch for in the preseason opener tomorrow, players to know for preseason, and more.
