Packers: Five players to watch in preseason vs. Ravens
By Jesse Fry
Montravius Adams
I wanted to put Kingsley Keke in this spot, but with him nursing a quad injury there’s no telling if he will play. Keke looked quick off the snap and like he could add something to the pass rush as a rookie.
So I’m going with a guy who will be relied on more to do the same, Montravius Adams. Adams looks slimmer and explosive this year. He has been praised by defensive coordinator Mike Pettine all offseason and has made the team feel comfortable enough to send Mike Daniels packing.
I really liked Adams coming out of Auburn and feel he is now starting to come to form and show what made him a third-round draft pick.
Even with slimming down a good 10-12 pounds this offseason, Adams still looks and is playing strong. We should get a good look at how strong this week.
The Ravens will likely run the ball a lot and give us a good idea how Adams will hold up against a more power-based scheme. Should an injury occur on the D-line, Adams will be the first off the bench and will need to be able to use his quickness and power in the run game as well as the pass game.
