3. Curtis Bolton

After two strong performances in preseason, linebacker Curtis Bolton looks to have a very good chance of securing a spot on the 53-man roster.

Not only that, but Bolton could have the opportunity to actually start in Mike Pettine’s defense alongside Blake Martinez, following the injury to Oren Burks in the preseason opener.

In two games, Bolton has made eight tackles, one tackle for loss, two pass defenses, and an interception. He’s made plays on both defense and special teams, which will go a long way to helping him make the roster.

The fact Bolton started the second preseason game at inside linebacker shows the confidence the coaches have in him. And it’s quite incredible as just a few months ago the Packers signed him as an undrafted free agent.

Bolton has competition from seventh-round pick Ty Summers, but currently it looks like the former who is most likely to win a starting job while Burks is out with injury.

Bolton will be a player to watch in the Packers’ final two preseason games. If he can put in another good performance this Thursday night, it could secure his position on the Packers’ 53-man roster, if he hasn’t already done so.
