Packers: Top five performers vs. Chiefs in preseason
By Jesse Fry
Kingsley Keke
One top performer who will make the opening roster is Kingsley Keke. Keke has looked good all preseason long. He is quick off the snap, gets in the backfield and should provide some pass rush up the middle.
Keke demonstrated all of this and then some Thursday night. He finished with a sack and a batted down pass. The starting three are set with Kenny Clark, Dean Lowry and Montravius Adams. Keke and Tyler Lancaster are set to sub in when needed. But Keke has shown he may be able to be more than just another rotational body.
Keke might be able to add a little extra “juice” to the pass rush this season. Hopefully he won’t have to do much heavy lifting this year. The team has the three aforementioned players as well as Za’Darius Smith and Rashan Gary, who will rotate inside as well.
These guys are not the main attraction and will probably/hopefully not make the difference in the season. They gave it all they had and will now wait to hear their fate (some may have already).
Before they are relegated to the bench, practice squad or another team, they used the opportunity to make a favorable impression. These five guys did. Who knows what the future holds, but we all do know one thing, we are all ready for the season to open against the hated Chicago Bears.
