Wide receivers (6)

Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Geronimo Allison, Trevor Davis, Jake Kumerow, Darrius Shepherd

The starting three of Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Geronimo Allison looked to be set in stone quite early on, and Jake Kumerow soon became a roster lock after impressing at camp.

A return from injury and standout performance in the third preseason game proved why Trevor Davis can be an important part of this offense in 2019. He should see more opportunities in LaFleur’s offense than he did under Mike McCarthy, and provides a lot of value on special teams.

Shepherd wasn’t selected in the draft, and he wasn’t even signed after the draft. The Packers brought him in for a tryout at rookie minicamp. Just a few months later, he’s going to be catching passes from Aaron Rodgers in the regular season. What an incredible story.

One surprise was that Equanimeous St. Brown didn’t make the initial 53-man roster before being placed on injured reserve. By being placed on IR prior to the roster cuts, he won’t be able to return during the season.

Allen Lazard is unlucky to miss out after a great summer. If he goes unclaimed on waivers, the Packers will surely want to sign him to the practice squad.

Tight ends (4)

Jimmy Graham, Marcedes Lewis, Robert Tonyan, Jace Sternberger

As expected, the Packers went with four tight ends. With Jimmy Graham’s receiving ability and Marcedes Lewis’ blocking, Green Bay has two experienced, talented players at tight end. Robert Tonyan could be set for a breakout season in 2019, which could lead to becoming the number one tight end in the future. It’ll also be interesting to see how many snaps rookie Jace Sternberger plays in 2019.
