Packers in top 10 of NFC power rankings for Week 1
16. Arizona Cardinals
The Kyler Murray era gets underway in Arizona this week. The Cardinals will be hoping their offense can rebound in 2019 with the arrival of Murray and a bounce-back season for All-Pro running back David Johnson. But there are still so many question marks for this team. Their offensive line was ranked 30th in the NFL by Pro Football Focus. Can new head coach Kliff Kingsbury get off to a good start?
15. New York Giants
Eli Manning will need to make a fast start if he’s to keep the starting job ahead of rookie quarterback Daniel Jones, who played well in the preseason. Trading away Odell Beckham Jr. doesn’t help the Giants’ chances, and they’ll be without Golden Tate for the first four games of the season.
14. Washington Redskins
Washington is another team with a rookie quarterback, but for now, it’s Case Keenum who will start ahead of Dwayne Haskins. Washington’s defense finished 15th in points allowed per game last season. If the offense can improve, the team will have a chance to be more competitive.
13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers’ offense has no shortage of talent with Mike Evans, O.J. Howard and Chris Godwin. And with Bruce Arians taking over as head coach, the Bucs could be a high-scoring team in 2019. The Cardinals led the league in offense under Arians in 2015. The biggest concern is the defense, which allowed 383.4 yards per game last season.
