Packers in top 10 of NFC power rankings for Week 1
4. Philadelphia Eagles
But the Cowboys aren’t the only contender in the NFC East. The Eagles won the division two years ago and have every chance to do so again in 2019. Carson Wentz was an MVP candidate before getting injured in 2017. The Eagles have one of the NFL’s best rosters, and if Wentz is healthy, they could go far in the playoffs.
3. Chicago Bears
Even if the Bears’ defense takes a slight step back this year — which is possible after losing defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, safety Adrian Amos and cornerback Bryce Callahan — it’s still one of the best defenses in football. Add in the potential improvements on offense in Matt Nagy’s second year as head coach and with the addition of running backs David Montgomery and Mike Davis, and the Bears are once again one of the NFC’s top teams.
2. Los Angeles Rams
The Rams were outplayed in the Super Bowl last season, but they still have a loaded roster with all the talent to make another push for a championship. The big question will be Todd Gurley‘s health and whether he can play all 16 games.
1. New Orleans Saints
Enter the New Orleans Saints, who have the most balanced roster in the NFL. Any offense with a future Hall-of-Famer at quarterback and All-Pros at running back and wide receiver will be tough to stop. The Saints also have a talented defense. This team should put up 12 or 13 wins and could secure the NFC’s top seed for the playoffs.
