The Green Bay Packers could be without tight end Jimmy Graham against the Denver Broncos in Week 3.

So far in 2019, the Packers have been lucky not to lose too many starters due to injury. But they could be without their starting tight end in Sunday’s game against the Broncos, as Jimmy Graham has been unable to practice.

According to the team’s official injury report, Graham hasn’t been able to participate at practice this week due to a groin injury. There’s still one more practice to go before the Packers will announce his game status, but the fact he’s missed two practices isn’t an encouraging sign.

Another potential sign that Graham could miss Sunday’s game is that the team signed TE Evan Baylis to the 53-man roster.

That doesn’t guarantee Graham will miss the game as the Packers had an open roster spot available after trading away Trevor Davis. It could just be that they are preparing for the worst-case scenario by having Baylis available to play.

Should Graham sit out of the game, it’ll be interesting to see how the Packers use Robert Tonyan, who has so far played on just under a third of the team’s offensive snaps this season, according to Pro Football Reference. Could Tonyan see an increased role? And would he be able to give the team another receiving threat while also being relied on to block?

If Graham is out, Marcedes Lewis could also see an increase in snaps, or it’s possible Matt LaFleur will decide to use an additional wide receiver on the field.

This season, Graham has three catches for 30 yards and a touchdown, all of which came in the season opener against the Chicago Bears.

We’ll get a better idea about Graham’s status for this game on Friday. Could we see more from Big Bob Tonyan this week?
