Three weeks and three victories. The Green Bay Packers are off to a hot start. Which key contributors helped the Packers get to 3-0?

The Packers and their defense stayed hot to start the 2019 season. Behind six sacks from the new and improved pass rush, the defense was able to force three turnovers to help seal another victory.

Aaron Rodgers is still finding his footing in this new offense, and that’s OK. He’s still making enough plays to put up points on the board and is cashing in when the defense sets him up.

Two of the Packers’ three takeaways set up short fields and helped the offense score points when they were struggling. It’s not the prettiest way to win, but who cares? As long as the team continues to win, style points won’t matter.

Although, I will say this is something very different. In previous seasons, Aaron Rodgers would have to compensate for a struggling defense and try to win most games in a shootout. That doesn’t appear it will be the case in 2019.

Brian Gutekunst’s defensive makeover is showing it was money and draft picks well spent. The pass rush harassed Joe Flacco all game long and came up with key turnovers when the team needed them.

It wasn’t all positive for the defense. For the second straight week, the team was gashed on the ground for big gains. If not for the three turnovers, the game might have been very different. The Broncos were able to control the clock on offense, running the ball for 149 yards for over 35 minutes in time of possession. In fact, the Packers only outgained the Broncos by two yards (Denver 310 total yards, Packers 312).

So if there was any doubt about whether or not it was money well spent, those doubts should be put to rest as the defense has been leading the way to the 3-0 start.

The offense will come around the more time Rodgers has in it. But for now, these five players led the way for another victory for Green Bay.
