5. Rashan Gary

The reason all those rushing yards have not come back to haunt the Packers is because of turnovers at crucial moments in the game. Interceptions in the red zone, momentum-changing fumbles, drive-stopping picks — the defense has done it all.

One way to keep those turnovers overs coming is to keep pressure on the quarterback.

Za’Darius and Preston Smith have been better than the Packers could have hoped for. They have combined for 7.5 sacks so far on the young season, and five in the last game alone. The Packers would love for them to keep that pace. And maybe they can. But it would be better if the Packers can add to their arsenal at pass rusher.

Rashan Gary has seen his snap count increase week after week, and he added his first sack as a pro on Sunday against the Broncos. If he can provide extra rush and spell the Smiths without the defense missing a beat, this defense will only get more dangerous.

This is the best offensive line the Packers have played so far this season. Jason Peters and Lane Johnson are two of the very best at their position. Jason Kelce is pretty good too. If the Packers can send waves of fresh pass rushers at them, the defense is bound to crack through for a big play.

The Eagles are hurt and reeling. But this is a team with a head coach who won’t let that be an excuse. Philly is going to come into Lambeau ready to give the Packers all they can handle.

Green Bay better get ready for a physical matchup against a banged-up but talented team.

Dallas is off to a 3-0 start and Philly can’t afford to fall further behind. But, if these five players play up to their standard, and the rest of the team do their part, the Packers could close the first quarter of their season in winning fashion.
