The Green Bay Packers have a big matchup coming up in Week 5 when they travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys. We compare the Packers and Cowboys position-by-position in this week’s tale of the tape.

The Packers will travel to Jerry World this weekend to take on the Cowboys. This is a matchup of a pair of 3-1 teams who are both looking to stay atop of their respective divisions. The Packers are tied with the Chicago Bears (3-1) at the top of the NFC North, but with a head-to-head win, they are technically in first. The Cowboys are alone at the top of the NFC East, with a game lead over both the Eagles and Giants (2-2).

Even though it’s only Week 5, this has the feel of an extremely important game. Both teams look to be possible contenders in the NFC, and a head-to-head win could go a long way in deciding a potential tiebreaker.

Both teams are coming off a loss last week. The Packers lost a tough one to the Eagles on Thursday night while the Cowboys lost a low-scoring game at New Orleans on Sunday night.

The game wasn’t the only thing both of these teams lost. Each team had an injury to an important part of their offense. Davante Adams went down late in the game for the Packers with a toe injury, while the Cowboys lost their starting left tackle, Tyron Smith, with a high-ankle sprain.

Adams hasn’t necessarily been ruled out yet, but it’s doubtful that he’ll play on Sunday. Smith, on the other hand, is expected to miss a few games. This is a big opportunity for the Packers’ pass rush to get to the quarterback and disrupt the passing game of Dallas.

With such an important game coming up, I think it’s important to take a closer look at these teams and compare the positions and determine who could possibly have the advantage on Sunday afternoon. We’ll compare the coaching staffs, quarterbacks, offenses, defenses, and special teams.

Let’s start with the coaching.
