As expected, the Green Bay Packers will be without Davante Adams on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Packers will be without star receiver Davante Adams, running back Jamaal Williams and cornerback Tony Brown in Week 5. Cornerback Kevin King is doubtful to play.

Three players were listed as questionable.

Here are some quick thoughts about the injury report.

Adams, Williams and Brown ruled out, King doubtful

No real surprises here, but it’s of course bad news for the Packers. Adams is one of the best wide receivers in football, and the Packers’ depth at wide receiver will be tested against the No. 10 passing defense.

And if Matt LaFleur’s plan to deal with Adams’ injury is to lean on the run game, the Packers will have to do so without Jamaal Williams. Again, it’s no surprise Williams won’t be available on Sunday, so the Packers will have had time to adjust their plans.

This should give rookie Dexter Williams his first real opportunity, as he’ll likely be the number two back behind Aaron Jones. And who knows, maybe Williams will impress. Jones was the third RB on the depth chart two years ago, and he only got his first opportunity through injury. And it was only then we saw just how great he can be.

The injuries to Tony Brown and Kevin King are a major concern. King hasn’t been officially ruled out, but he’s doubtful, so there’s not much chance he’ll be out there on Sunday. Again, the Packers’ depth will be tested. The secondary has been a strength through three weeks. Josh Jackson will need to play well.

A couple of returns on defense?

There could be some positives news for the defense, though. Defensive lineman Montravius Adams and linebacker Oren Burks are listed as questionable. They were both limited at practice this week.

Their status remains up in the air, but the fact they haven’t been ruled out is encouraging that they could be set to return soon, if not this week.

If the Packers can get Adams back, it’ll be important against the run. Burks would also give the defense a boost, particularly in coverage. That could be important with injuries in the secondary.

Bryan Bulaga ready to go

Six players on the injury report have no injury designation, meaning they’re healthy and available to play on Sunday. Right tackle Bryan Bulaga is one of them. That’s a huge positive for the offensive line up against a talented Cowboys pass rush.

Wide receiver Jake Kumerow is set to return after practicing in full all week. With Adams out, Kumerow could see an increased role.
