2. Offensive line

For Jones to have the game he had, the offensive line had to do their job. Each lineman played a spectacular game in run blocking. Despite an injury to Corey Linsley (concussion), the line held it together and paved the way for Jones’ record day.

The scheme for the game helped as well. Departing from his outside zone for most of the game, Matt LaFleur called more inside zones and got the line and Jones comfortable and in a rhythm. Yet, if it wasn’t for the six players on the line, Jones’ big day may have never happened.

Despite dealing with a back injury all week, Bryan Bulaga played one of the best games he has all season. He shut down DeMarcus Lawrence and cleared the way in the run game.

Elgton Jenkins is showing he belongs and has real potential to be a Pro Bowl-type guard. Lucas Patrick stepped in when Linsley went down and the line didn’t miss a beat. There were a few snaps that were less than perfect, but Jones and Rodgers found a way to deal with it and get positive yardage.

David Bakhtiari was his usually steady self, although he did give up some pressures.

Hopefully, Linsley is back sooner rather than later. The extra day of rest, as they are playing on a Monday night, might help. But even if he isn’t, the Packers proved they have some depth and can clear the way when called upon.
