The Green Bay Packers head to Kansas City for a matchup against their second consecutive AFC West opponent. Which players will help decide the game in the Packers’ favor?

After playing five of their first seven games at home, the Packers head to Kansas City for a matchup with the first-place Chiefs. Some of the sparkle of the matchup was lost last Thursday when Patrick Mahomes injured his knee, but Mahomes practiced on a limited basis Wednesday and hasn’t been completely ruled out.

Will he actually play? My bet is Andy Reid and the Chiefs play it safe with their MVP and let him sit this weekend. Even without Mahomes, this Chiefs team has plenty of talent to hang with the Packers.

The Chiefs have speed at all the skill positions on offense and have a defense that is improving under new coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.

The Chiefs put up 30 points last week despite missing Mahomes for the better part of three quarters, while the defense only allowed six points. Andy Reid is one of the best regular-season coaches there has been in the NFL, so he will have this team ready to play.

The Chiefs’ running game can throw three different backs at the defense that can take it to the house anytime they have the ball. Even the aging LeSean McCoy.

While the game may have lost some appeal, the Chiefs are not just going to roll over and give the Packers the win. These five players will need to show their value to bring home a victory.
