2. Jaire Alexander

After getting torched by Amari Cooper in Dallas three weeks ago, Jaire Alexander has responded with solid games against the Lions and Raiders. This week, he’ll get another tough matchup with the Chiefs’ Tyreek Hill.

Though not very big, Hill has speed to spare and has greatly improved his route-running to make him more than a gadget or speed player. This will be Hill’s third game back after a shoulder injury sidelined him for the first part of this season, but the rust should be all the way off by now.

It won’t matter who’s throwing Hill the ball, he’s a threat for big gains any time he touches the ball. Alexander will have to be on top of his game in order to slow Hill down. This is what the Packers drafted him for. To sit down his side of the field and take out one of the top receivers in the game.

Alexander will not only have to rely on his speed to stop Hill, but must also make sound tackles and not allow small gains to bleed into something more. If Matt Moore is the starter, I would expect Reid to use quick hitches and bubble screens with Hill to get Moore into a groove. Even if it is Mahomes, I would expect much of the same to get the ball out quick and limit the movement his hobbled quarterback would have to do.

The last time Alexander faced a receiver with similar measurables, Brandin Cooks, he had one of the best games of his young career. Let’s hope for more of the same Sunday night.
