Aaron Jones

Anyone who watched Aaron Jones in his first two seasons could see he had the potential to become a star. Opportunity was the key, as was an improvement in the passing game. We’ve seen both in 2019.

Jones is not only on pace for a career-best in rushing yards and touchdowns, but he already has more receiving yards than in his first two seasons combined.

With Davante Adams out due to a toe injury, the Packers have leaned on their running backs. And Jones has delivered. After eight games, he has 466 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground, along with 355 receiving yards with three more touchdowns. That’s an incredible 11 touchdowns in just half a season.

Now imagine when Adams gets back. The superstar receiver draws attention from the defense’s number one cornerback, and often he’ll be double-covered. Jones’ ability as a receiver gives defensive coordinators a tough decision now. As we saw against the Chiefs last week, Aaron Rodgers will keep finding him when Jones gets a favorable matchup. And Jones is making big play after big play.

In LaFleur’s offense, Jones is putting together a dominant season. He’s been key to the Packers’ success in the opening eight games of the season.
