Davante Adams active for Packers vs. Chargers in Week 9
Davante Adams is back!
The Green Bay Packers‘ offense has been heating up over the past month. Now they get their star wide receiver back on the field. Davante Adams is officially active for the Packers’ Week 9 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Adams injured his toe in the Week 4 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Packers found a way to remain undefeated without him. Now imagine how good this offense can be with Adams back in the lineup.
Adams’ last game was one of the best of his career. Against the Eagles, he caught 10 of his 15 targets for an incredible 180 yards.
His return will also create more room for Aaron Jones, Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The Chargers have a good pass defense, so Adams’ return could be a game-changer for the Packers offense.
The Packers released their full list of inactives for Week 9.
Second-year cornerback Josh Jackson won’t play. Tight end Robert Tonyan remains out. But rookie tight end Jace Sternberger will make his NFL debut after being activated from injured reserve earlier in the week.
With Adams back, the Packers are close to 100 percent. They’ve dealt with a number of injuries this season, but the injury report has been starting to look a lot better in recent weeks. And getting Adams back is huge.
It’ll be interesting to see whether he plays as many snaps as he normally would, or whether Matt LaFleur will ease him back into game action. The same goes for Sternberger. How many snaps will he play in his first game since preseason?
What’s your prediction for the score in this afternoon’s game?
