The Green Bay Packers can’t wallow in their recent defeat in Los Angeles.

Maybe the Packers finally fell to Earth, or maybe the Chargers really are that good, but the Packers laid an egg in Los Angeles, losing 26-11. They couldn’t get anything going on offense, getting shutout in the first half and couldn’t stop the Chargers from getting to the red zone consistently.

Davante Adams even came back this week and somehow the success of this offense plummeted. I felt like they got away from what has been working well, like making Aaron Jones the focal point of the offense, to force-feed Adams.

I get that Adams is an elite receiver, but he hasn’t been there in the past few weeks, so he needed to be worked into the offense and not just thrown into it. Aaron Rodgers really focused on getting Adams the ball and kind of left what’s been working on the wayside.

The defense still couldn’t figure out how to cover crossing routes in the middle of the field. Philip Rivers was getting the ball out quickly and the pass rush couldn’t get home. The Chargers constantly attacked the middle of the field, gaining yards consistently all day long. This is something that has been going on for a few weeks, especially since the Raiders game when Darren Waller had a career day.

As bad as the game was, the Packers can take solace in the fact that it was just one game. They can come back from this. Rodgers thinks some good can come from this loss. Maybe he’s right, maybe they were listening to the outside noise and got caught up in the hype. This “humble pie” could end up helping this team in the long run.

Whatever this issues are, they don’t have time to sit and think about this game, nor should they. This is still a good team that just needs to fix a few things. Hopefully, this loss will highlight those areas and will be points of emphasis to focus on this week in practice.

They have the Panthers coming to town next Sunday. The Panthers (5-3) are coming off of a 30-20 victory over the Titans and have one of, if not the best running backs in the league. Christian McCaffrey has been lighting it up this year and could cause a lot of issues for the Packers’ defense.

It’s already been reported that Cam Newton is expected to miss the game, leaving backup Kyle Allen to lead the Panthers at Lambeau. Although he had no NFL experience before this season, he has been pretty good at the helm of the Panthers. If the Packers have a repeat performance of Sunday, this Panthers team could very well come into town and knock the Packers off too.

After this week, the Packers will have a bye before taking on the undefeated 49ers, but before they can even think about that game, they will need to take care of business at home this week.
