Ranking Brian Gutekunst’s top three moves as Green Bay Packers general manager so far.

It’s hard to believe that Brian Gutekunst has now completed two offseasons as general manager of the Green Bay Packers. Time flies. His first season didn’t end too well, but that wasn’t on him. Gutekunst had a plan to rebuild the roster as quickly as possible, and we’re beginning to see it all come together in 2019.

Gutekunst deserves credit for changing the philosophy in Green Bay. Take nothing away from Ted Thompson. He had an incredible career with the Packers and helped build a championship roster in 2010, but a change was needed following the 2017 season. Draft-and-develop only works if you’re drafting well, and that simply wasn’t the case in Thompson’s final few seasons as GM.

Now with two offseasons of work, we can begin to see Gutekunst’s style when it comes to building a roster. We can also reflect on the moves he’s made that have worked, and others which haven’t.

But, today, we’re going to look at some of his best moves over the past two years. It was hard to narrow it down to three as he’s made a number of good moves since becoming the GM.

Here we go. A look back at Gutekunst’s top three moves as GM so far.
