Week 10: Carolina Panthers

We’re going to learn a lot about this team on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. Can the Packers bounce back after last week’s humiliation on the West Coast? It’s a serious test for Matt LaFleur and his team, and I’m interested to see how they overcome adversity.

Two things worry me about this game. The first is the Panthers’ ground game led by All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey. McCaffrey has been close to unstoppable this season. After eight games, he already has an incredible 881 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground, along with 363 yards and three more touchdowns through the air. No running back in the NFL is averaging more rushing yards than McCaffrey.

The other concern is Carolina’s pass rush. No team has as many sacks as the Panthers this season, and the Packers’ usually-strong offensive line struggled in a big way last week.

Despite all of that, the Packers are at home. They won’t stop McCaffrey completely but if they can build an early lead, they’ll put the game in the hands of backup quarterback Kyle Allen. And that’s where the Packers’ dominant pass rush can have a big impact.

The Packers bounce back with a win over the Panthers.

Prediction: Packers 30, Panthers 24 (8-2)
