Week 12: at San Francisco 49ers

Halfway through the season, there’s been no bigger surprise than the rise of the San Francisco 49ers. It remains to be seen whether they’ll still be undefeated when the Packers visit Levi’s Stadium in Week 12. San Francisco has games against the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals before then.

The 49ers’ success has been no fluke, either. They have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, are well-coached and have found ways to win every single week.

As much as I’d love to believe the Packers will go into Levi’s Stadium and hand the Niners their first loss, this doesn’t feel like a favorable matchup. Only the Baltimore Ravens are averaging more rushing yards per game than the 49ers. Kyle Shanahan’s offense is committed to running the ball, and with great success. The 49ers are averaging 171.1 rushing yards per game. That’s a nightmare scenario for a Packers defense ranked 24th against the run.

The one advantage for the Packers is the fact they’ll enter this game following a bye week. That gives LaFleur and the coaching staff an extra week to prepare. The Packers will also have additional time to get healthy.

But in the end, it won’t matter. The 49ers get the win.

Prediction: 49ers 38, Packers 28 (8-3)
