Jaire Alexander

As the Packers had hoped after his impressive rookie year, Jaire Alexander has emerged as one of the league’s best young cornerbacks this season. Alexander’s 12 passes defended is tied for second in the league, and he’s also got an interception and forced fumble to go with it. Based on the first 10 games alone, Alexander deserves to make the Pro Bowl.

One area Alexander most needs to improve is turning potential interceptions into big plays for the defense. He’s made a couple so far this season. Taking the ball right out of Noah Fant‘s hands after a reception will be one of the top plays for the Packers all year. But Alexander has also missed a few opportunities, including the chance to make a pick-six last week.

Alexander has dropped a few potential interceptions, but the fact he’s even in position to make those plays in the first place is encouraging. If he can start making those plays, we’ll be talking about All-Pro selections as well as the Pro Bowl.

Alexander is an aggressive cornerback, is fun to watch and is one of the best young players at his position. If he can close out what’s been an impressive second season, he’ll have every chance of going to the Pro Bowl.
