3. Forget about last week’s performance

The Packers were embarrassed by a very good football team on a national stage a week ago, but they can’t allow what happened seven days earlier to have an impact on this game.

It’s happened before. Rewind to 2015. The Packers started the season 6-0 before their bye week. They were then dominated by the Denver Broncos, losing 29-10, and lost again the following week to the Carolina Panthers. Both games were on the road against the two teams that would eventually compete in the Super Bowl.

But the Packers then lost a third straight, this time at home to a struggling Lions team. Two weeks later, they lost at Lambeau Field again, this time to the Chicago Bears.

The Packers finished the season 4-6 after starting with six consecutive wins. They didn’t respond well to a couple of defeats. Teams played them differently and the Broncos had shown them how to do it.

LaFleur and his staff need to ensure last week’s blowout loss doesn’t have a similar impact. A game against the Giants is the perfect recipe to bounce back and regain some momentum. Great teams don’t often lose two in a row.

In a potential bounce-back game, the Packers need to forget about last week’s performance.
