Packers: Eight players who might not be back in 2020 season
4. Tramon Williams
Tramon Williams isn’t a regular starter in the Packers defense anymore, but he’s still put together a solid season in the secondary. The 36-year-old doesn’t make too many mistakes and he’s made a few big plays this season. Williams has an interception, a fumble recovery and four passes defended.
However, Williams’ contract expires in the offseason and he’ll turn 37 in March. If Williams isn’t back next season and the Packers move on from Josh Jackson, cornerback could become a need in the offseason. But they won’t need Williams to move back to safety as he did a year ago. Adrian Amos, Darnell Savage and Ibraheim Campbell give the Packers good depth at the position, and Raven Greene too when he’s back from injury.
3. Geronimo Allison
Geronimo Allison has started six games this season and played the second-most snaps at wide receiver for the Packers, but he hasn’t met expectations so far. Allison has made just 26 receptions for 220 yards and two touchdowns, and he’s averaging a career-low 8.5 yards per reception.
It won’t be a surprise if Brian Gutekunst uses multiple draft picks at wide receiver in the offseason as he has done at cornerback in the past. Allison is a free agent, and the Packers could decide to move on.
