ESPN’s Rob Demovsky reported in October that the Packers were one of the teams interested in trading for New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson prior to the deadline. A trade didn’t happen, but the Packers could get another opportunity to bring in Anderson in the offseason. He is set to become a free agent in March.

Anderson will likely draw interest from a number of teams, but if the Packers could agree a deal, he could step right in as the number two wide receiver on the depth chart. A combination of Davante Adams and Anderson would be better than many around the NFL. Anderson would give the Packers another deep threat.

Since 2017, Anderson has caught 149 passes for 2,239 yards and 16 touchdowns, averaging over 15 yards per reception. Working in the Packers offense with Aaron Rodgers throwing the football his way, he could have his first 1,000-yard season in 2020.

It remains to be seen whether the Jets will be able to agree a long-term deal with Anderson in the offseason, but if he becomes a free agent, he could be the best wide receiver available. There will be interest from other teams, but Anderson would be a great addition to the Green Bay offense.
