4. Allen Lazard

At this point, I don’t think there’s any doubt Allen Lazard is the Packers’ number two wide receiver. He’s earned that role with some consistent performances on offense. It’s hard to imagine Lazard won’t be part of the Packers’ plans in 2020. But wide receiver will undoubtedly be one of the team’s biggest needs in the offseason, and how Lazard finishes the season could determine just how urgent a need it is.

Will Lazard be the fourth or fifth option at wide receiver next season, or can he put himself in position for a role much bigger than that?

Lazard has 22 catches for 330 yards and two touchdowns this season. That’s third among wide receivers for the Packers, which is impressive as he’s played on almost half as many snaps as Geronimo Allison and Marquez Valdes-Scantling this season, according to Pro Football Reference.

Lazard has been a surprise for the Packers on offense, but a strong finish to the season could put him in pole position to be the second or third receiver on this team a year from now. He’s proven he deserves a spot on the roster and in this offense, but the final four games can give further proof he should have a significant role in 2020.
