Packers: Top five performers vs. Redskins in Week 14 win
By Jesse Fry
4. Jimmy Graham
If the Packers want to make a deep playoff run and possible Super Bowl run, more options in the passing game are going to have to step up.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling has been missing in action for a month now. Geronimo Allison, the most veteran receiver outside of Davante Adams, has been inconsistent and a far cry from the player who looked poised for a breakout last year before injury. Allen Lazard has stepped up when given a chance but the team could still use more.
Aaron Jones, Adams and Aaron Rodgers give the Packers as good of a trio there will be heading into the playoffs. But Rodgers is at his best with many options at his disposal.
Jimmy Graham‘s three catches for 49 yards are not monster numbers. But they show Graham can still be productive.
Graham has Rodgers’ trust. That is very important to the quarterback. He may have lost a step but he is still a big target who can get open in the middle of the field and red zone. The Packers don’t need him to be the Graham he once was. If he can be a chain-moving, touchdown-catching big man, that will be enough for the team.
