Kenny Clark

By Kenny Clark‘s high standards, he hasn’t been quite at his best for all of the 2019 season, but he’s reminded everyone just how good he is in recent weeks. Clark had arguably his best game of the season against the Washington Redskins, making 1.5 sacks, a tackle for loss and two quarterback hits.

Clark is a rising star at defensive tackle and can be a key part of the Packers defense for years to come.

Clark doesn’t become a free agent until 2021 as Green Bay exercised his fifth-year option, but that doesn’t mean the team shouldn’t agree on a new long-term deal before then.

Clark is a future All-Pro defensive tackle, and the Packers don’t want to lose another important defensive player as they did with Casey Hayward and Micah Hyde.

Re-signing everybody is impossible, especially if the Packers plan to sign other free agents. But Gutekunst should do all he can to agree new deals with these five players, and the sooner that’s possible, the better.

Bulaga and Crosby are free agents in just a few months, and the Packers should aim to bring them both back, as well as Bakhtiari, Linsley and Clark before they hit free agency in 2021. Whether that’s possible remains to be seen.
