Packers: Top five performers vs. Bears in key Week 15 win
By Jesse Fry
1. Davante Adams
Davante Adams was once again head and shoulders above the other receivers on the field. Adams had seven receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown. No other receiver had more than two receptions.
Adams’ touchdown was a thing of beauty. Bears cornerback Buster Skrine lined up across from Adams in the slot on a fourth-and-six. Adams beat Skrine off the line on a go route and hauled in a perfectly thrown ball for the touchdown. It was the first score of the day and got the Packers out to a lead they would never relinquish.
Adams was not without his faults as he dropped a few passes that he should easily catch. The cold elements may have had something to do with it but at this level, and this point in the season, he should not be dropping those passes.
Aaron Rodgers has never had to be so reliant on one receiver before. He has had always a strong cast to throw to. The fact the Packers have been able to win as much as they have despite having only one receiver shows you just how good Adams has been. He is constantly the focus of other teams and still manages to put up good numbers.
Still, the team will need to develop another option if they would like to go far.
