5. Matt LaFleur

For the first time in Green Bay’s 101 seasons, a rookie head coach led the Packers to the playoffs and over 10 wins. The Packers haven’t always looked good this season. There were times when Coach LaFleur showed he was a rookie. Yet the team has still found a way to win 11 games in 14 tries. Vince Lombardi, Mike Holmgren, Mike Sherman, nor Mike McCarthy took their team to the playoffs in their first year.

Regardless of what happens in the next two weeks, the Packers are in. But, his goals and aspirations are bigger than that. Coach LaFleur is well aware of what is in front of his team and won’t let them lose sight of that. All they need is two more wins and the worst the team can finish is second in the NFC.

The team still has a ways to go to be a complete team. They have yet to even put together a complete game. But they have a chance at a division title and first-round bye. Yes, everyone wants more. Playoff wins, titles, Super Bowl trophies, but what LaFleur has done shouldn’t be taken for granted.

Two more weeks and two more wins will put the Packers in good position for a Super Bowl run. For now, the team should be excited about being back in the playoffs for the first time since the 2016 season. The team should also understand there is a lot of work to be done. The offense has to put together some kind of consistency, while the defense must continue to shut down the run and pressure the quarterback.
